![]() The process won't take very long, and you'll end up with a list on your desktop of any apps that you might need to reinstall. If that doesn't fix the problems, the next step (unless you've made a manual backup/system image) is to try System Restore, or the more thorough "Refresh your PC without affecting your files" option from the "Update and recovery" screen. You *may* need a Win8.1 Pro 圆4 installation disc. I don't know the German syntax, but in English you'd type "sfc /scannow" (no quotes) and see if Windows can repair the damage. You should run the System File Checker utility from an Admin-level command prompt (available when right-clicking the start button). That also matches with you being able to run things OK in a VM - it wouldn't have the same problems as your "real" OS. It is likely that the problem of not being able to launch Photo Director is due to the faults deep down in your Win8.1 installation. Picobus, I'm afraid your computer is having some serious problems with some internal components, like USBDLM.exe and Service_KMS, and they have caused several blue screen crashes. I attach the DXDIAG and the SR Numbers of Power-Director and Photo-Director in a zip-file, as suggested. If anyone is out there in the forum, who might give me additional ideas how to tackle this inconveniance, would find me very grateful. Regrettably, on a virtual machine the performance of the software is rather reduced. ![]() Reason: when installing the software on my virtual machine, I do not have that problem. I am pretty sure the problem lies with one of the settings in my PC. However, no one answered it and it got "lost". I have spent several days to try and solve this problem myself (installing, re-installing, playing with settings of my graphics card and my displays, switching off anti-virus, firewall.) I have noticed, that a while back this topic came up in one of the threads. I am, however, pretty new at the CyberLink software. I believe I am a fairly experienced user of PC-Systems. ![]() Incidentally: this problem does not occur with Color-Director via Power-Director or with Audio-Director via Power-Direcor. I have no problems at all to use Photo-Director as a stand alone - it is the integration in Power-Director that fails. I can see that Photo Director attempts to start, then closes down again. If Iwant to correct a photo (Jpg) in Power-Director via the Photo-Director application, it will not open. ATI/AMD drivers are also the latest version Graphics: AMD Raedon R9 200 Series plus Built in HD Graphics 4600Īll Drivers are updated. I hope someone might be able to help me, after I have tried to solve my problem for several days, without success.
